Ambassdor Alberto Fernandez, Coordinator of the Department of State's Center for Strategic Counterterrorism Communications (CSCC), discussed terrorist use of social media at a roundtable discussion on October 7. Ambassador Fernandez also discussed the important role the CSCC plays in countering violent extremism and the broader challenges posed by foreign fighters, particularly in Syria and Iraq.
