World Executive MBA in Cybersecurity: Upcoming Information Sessions

The Homeland Security Policy Institute (HSPI) has partnered with the GWU School of Business since 2012 to lead the World Executive MBA (WEMBA) Program in Cybersecurity. This 16-month program is intended to develop the next generation of senior leaders - both in government and in the private sector - who will be prepared to address the critical cybersecurity challenges facing government agencies and companies today. Frank Cilluffo, the Director of HSPI, has been a co-director of the program since its inception.

The program is currently recruiting its third cohort of students, who will start this fall and take classes that include both a core MBA curriculum (e.g. finance, marketing, strategy) and a set of elective of courses on cybersecurity taught by leading practitioners and subject matter experts.

The program also features two international residencies, where students apply their work on cybersecurity issues in a practical context. The first two classes of students have each completed one of their residencies in Tallinn, Estonia, where they met with the President of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, and other senior government officials, visited the NATO Cyber Defense Center of Excellence, and engaged in consulting projects with Estonian companies that addressed both their cybersecurity and business challenges. Highlights of the first residency are featured in this 2013 story in GW Today:

The program was also profiled last year in two articles published in the Financial Times, which highlighted this program as a unique and leading offering for individuals interested in getting an MBA and working in the cybersecurity field:
